History
The Toscanini Cultural Association, known as the “Toscanini ’79 – Metodo Rusticucci“, was founded in 1979-80 in Civitanova Marche, Italy. From the outset it has been characterised by its musical education teaching methods, and for the high standard of education of its teachers.
The main objective of the school is to bring together the vast world of music, allowing the students to discover their own creative abilities. Encounters with music are through a completely revolutionary method, where listening and understanding, spontaneity and the absence of textbooks allow you to develop your natural talents, facilitating the growth and personality of everyone.
Having started in Le Marche, the school soon spread across Italy (the Lazio, Emilia Romagna, Veneto regions of the country), and into several European countries, such as Germany (since 1996, it has been twinned with the city of Wolfsburg music school), Holland, Ireland and Scotland and the United States.
The musical and operatic direction of the Toscanini music school fits perfectly within a context of musical excellence that characterises the Marche region. By this musical vocation, Toscanini has become a reference point in this sector thanks to the variety of courses and activities on offer, and to the professional skill and creativity of its teachers. Very important are also the various collaborations with oratories and other cultural associations.
The school offers many courses: courses of classical orientation or modern orientation, courses of introduction to music, courses of paedagogy, musical education and psychomotor education addressed to children, music therapy. All courses adopt the Rusticucci Method “Growing with Music”, created by Prof. Fulvio Rusticucci and described by Francesca De Biasi in 2001 in her book, entitled: “The Rusticucci Method The quality of a child’s life in the music of everyday”.
Over the years, the Toscanini music school has been a promoter of important musical events, bringing all forms of music to a wide audience. These include the establishment of the Toscanini Polyphonic Choral Group (Corale Polifonico Toscanini) in 1984, the founding of Le Marche Guitar Orchestra (Orchestra Chitarristica Marchigiana) in 1998, and the establishment of the Orchestra of Recorders (Orchestra di Flauti dolci) in 1999.
The Toscanini ’79 Cultural Association, is a quality institution for all those who want to learn to play an instrument or sing, but it also specialises in the education and training of professionals: for example, in 1991 it founded the International Courses for Advanced Musical Studies, and since 1994 has collaborated with the IMI (International Music Institute).
At the same time, the Toscanini ’79 is rooted within regional and national educational institutions. Its recommended teaching method is adopted in public pre-schools and primary schools. In 2007, it was recognised by the Ministry of Education and is authorised to carry out training and refresher courses for school staff. Within this framework, in 2006, it created the ongoing European school music festival, “Music and Creativity”.
Fundamental events are the traditional end-of-year performances (in the months of June and July) in all the Toscanini schools and in primary schools and pre-schools: the protagonists are children and students of the courses of singing and music.
In 2012, the Toscanini Cultural Association has also activated an agreement with the Music College in Rimini and Ravenna, adapting their educational courses in accordance with pre-academic programs.
